Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt Sail Down the Amazon in ‘Jungle Cruise’ Trailer (Video)

The first trailer for the upcoming Disney adventure flick “Jungle Cruise” starring Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt arrived on Friday morning.

“Of all the jungle cruises you could take in the Amazon, this one is undoubtedly the cheapest. But also the most thrilling, ” Johnson, playing a boat captain, says early in the trailer.

‘Jungle Cruise,” set to open in theaters on July 24, 2020, is an upcoming adventure movie where a brother and sister (Jack Whitehall and Blunt) pay a wily boat captain (Johnson) to guide them down the Amazon River as they look for a tree with extraordinary healing powers — while looking to fend off some nefarious competition along the way.

The debut trailer shows Johnson at his action-star best: navigating treacherous waters, athletically swinging from tree branches, taking an inadvertent punch from Blunt in stride, and squaring up to fight a shady villain. There’s also a nerve-wracking shot of Johnson and Blunt, decked out in their best early 20th century clothes, getting dangerously close to going over the edge of a huge waterfall.

Jaume Collet-Serra (“The Shallows”) is directing the film based on the Disney World ride, which takes guests on a tour of the rivers, filled with animals and reptiles of the world.

John Davis and John Fox are producing for Davis Entertainment, while Beau Flynn is producing via his FlynnPictureCo. Banner. Johnson, Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia are producing through their Seven Bucks Productions banner, while Scott Sheldon is co-producing.
